Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a focused and analytical Requirements Gathering Specialist to identify, document, analyze, and translate business needs into actionable specifications. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with business stakeholders, product teams, developers, project managers, and technical staff to ensure solutions align perfectly with business goals and user expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, meetings, surveys, and discovery sessions to ascertain business needs.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, objectives, and desired results.
- Transform these needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements.
- Create detailed documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, and define acceptance criteria.
- Assess current systems, workflows, business rules to pinpoint gaps and opportunities for enhancement.
- Lead requirements workshops and discussions with technical and non-technical teams.
- Prioritize requirements considering business value, urgency, feasibility, dependencies, and project goals.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, UX Designers, and Project Managers.
- Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, data flows, wireframes, and other supportive documentation.
- Validate requirements alignment with stakeholders before beginning development/implementation.
- Manage requirement changes, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and project scope throughout the lifecycle.
- Support solution designs by providing detailed requirements to technical teams.
- Maintain traceability between business requirements, specifications, test cases, and final outputs.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet approved requirements.
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies, gaps, ambiguities, and conflicts within requirements.
- Maintain organized repositories with version control and project documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by highlighting opportunities for automation, system enhancements, and efficiency improvements.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, product/systems analysis, or project management roles.
- Proficient in facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions.
- Strong comprehension of business, functional, and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experienced in process mapping, workflow analysis, business process modeling, and documentation practices.
- Familiar with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Miro, Azure DevOps, or equivalents is advantageous.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, system integration, APIs, databases, and technology solutions preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple requirements and project priorities.
- Skilled at identifying scope gaps, dependencies, risks, and conflicting stakeholder priorities.
- Preferably holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or related disciplines.
- Certifications like CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Agile, Scrum, or related business analysis qualifications are a plus.
