Job Overview

This full-time position based in Phnom Penh involves assisting in procurement and supplier management to support the organization’s supply chain needs primarily in the power and energy sector or infrastructure industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support market research efforts to identify potential new suppliers for goods and services.
  • Review the specifications of requested goods and services, along with terms for delivery and payment, to ensure appropriateness and compliance.
  • Gather and analyze supplier quotations linked to approved purchase requests, preparing analysis reports for management review.
  • Maintain communication with suppliers to guarantee timely delivery and service fulfillment aligning with approved purchase requests, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Assist in updating and managing databases containing supplier information, prices, and sources regularly.
  • Help address issues such as defective or damaged goods and returns.
  • Provide progress updates to requesting departments.
  • Prepare and issue quotations, purchase orders, and contracts for departmental approval.
  • Keep meticulous records and documentation related to procurement activities, including quotes, purchase orders, and contracts in compliance with retention policies.
  • Coordinate with transport agents and customs to oversee shipment and clearance processes, ensuring timely customs clearance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Between 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement, shipment logistics, and customs clearance dealing with Cambodia customs and transport agents.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes within the power, energy, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
  • Current knowledge of procurement regulations, technical standards, Cambodian customs, and tax provisions.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work within a multicultural environment under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical abilities coupled with negotiation expertise.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering is a plus.
  • Proficient in English communication, both spoken and written.
