Role Overview

The full-time Reporter role based in Karachi at QASF is responsible for covering the foundation’s events, programs, and projects. Key duties involve producing news articles, feature stories, and reports for both internal communication and external media outlets. Daily tasks include attending events, conducting interviews, gathering information from diverse sources, and ensuring factual accuracy and impartiality in reporting. The Reporter is expected to write and edit content while working alongside the multimedia team to help create video or digital stories. Coordination with the communications team is essential to guarantee timely release and distribution of published materials. Additionally, the Reporter will engage in developing compelling storytelling methods to showcase the foundation's work and advocate its mission.

Qualifications

  • Competent in reporting and news writing, with a strong ability to collect, verify, and present information clearly and precisely.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities, including skills in interviewing, scripting, and crafting content suited to varied audiences.
  • Basic proficiency in multimedia tools, such as video, audio, or digital platforms aimed at enhancing news and feature coverage.
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Available to work onsite in Karachi, demonstrating effective deadline management and multitasking capabilities.
  • Awareness of current affairs complemented by an interest in personal development, education, and social impact sectors.
  • Experienced in utilizing writing, editing, and digital content management software.
  • Previous exposure to reporting or media production is advantageous but not obligatory.
