Overview

Powerco seeks an experienced and proactive Reliability Analytics Manager to spearhead the advancement of our reliability analytics capabilities. This pivotal 12-month fixed-term role in New Plymouth is geared towards covering parental leave and involves leading data-driven decision making throughout our electricity network.

Role Responsibilities

As the Reliability Analytics Manager, you will devise and implement Powerco’s reliability analytics strategy. Your focus will be on transforming data, insights, and analysis into actionable measures that enhance network reliability, asset management, and adherence to regulatory standards. You will direct a small team, working collaboratively with stakeholders across Engineering, Asset Management, Operations, Planning, Regulatory affairs, and Executive leadership.

This role demands driving innovation within analytics, establishing dependable data and reporting frameworks, furnishing impactful insights, and advocating for advanced analytics to facilitate investment prioritization and operational decisions. You will also represent Powerco at industry events to maintain our leadership in reliability and performance analytics.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with strong technical analytics acumen and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to influence and lead change. Your expertise covers descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, alongside modern analytics platforms and data management methods.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience leading analytics, engineering, or data-focused projects and teams.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a history of mentoring and developing technical professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various analytics types—descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive.
  • Familiarity with current analytics technologies, data platforms, and governance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to clarify complex data insights and motivate action.
  • An innovative approach with a dedication to continuous process improvement.
  • Preferably, background knowledge in electricity distribution, asset management, reliability metrics, or infrastructure-intensive sectors.
