Role Overview

Join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service at The University of Western Australia as a Registered Psychologist. Provide impactful clinical care supporting student wellbeing within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on positive student outcomes. This is a full-time ongoing position with consideration for part-time arrangements and a competitive salary plus benefits.

About the Directorate

The Directorate of Student Life and Community operates under the Education Portfolio to enhance the student experience through comprehensive services. The Student Health and Wellbeing division includes various specialized services such as Complex Case Support, The Living Room, Medical Centre, prevention programs, and the Psychology Team within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological and counselling services tailored to student mental health needs.
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Engage as an active team member contributing to professional development and best practice within the multidisciplinary team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Have significant experience providing counselling and psychological interventions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in assessing risk, devising safety plans, and applying evidence-based therapies.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse student groups.
  • Be highly organized, capable of managing caseloads, maintaining clinical records accurately, and adhering to service timelines.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary settings and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Additional Requirements and Recruitment Conditions

Applicants must complete declarations pursuant to the National Higher Education Code addressing gender-based violence prevention and response. Successful candidates must hold a current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check for Western Australia.
