About the Role
This position is based at Aarya Aushadhi (Genericart) located in Sector 5, New Panvel East. The pharmacist's primary responsibility is to facilitate affordable healthcare by dispensing generic medicines and ensuring safe substitution for branded drugs without compromising therapeutic effectiveness. The role demands compliance with regulatory guidelines and efficient management of inventory related to generic medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess branded prescriptions and substitute legally permissible equivalent generic drugs that deliver the same therapeutic effect.
- Accurately verify, prepare, label, and dispense medications, ensuring correct dosage, strength, and patient safety.
- Educate patients on the benefits, safety, and efficacy of generic alternatives, addressing and resolving any misconceptions.
- Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory, reordering generic formulations, and overseeing expiration dates to prevent stock degradation.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to discuss therapeutic substitutions or dosage adjustments as needed.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited institution.
- Possess a valid pharmacist license issued by the respective state or national authority.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations, bioequivalence, and the science behind generic drugs.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to counsel patients effectively and foster trust during medication counseling.
