Job description
Position Overview
We seek a qualified and meticulous Registered Pharmacist to manage daily pharmacy dispensing activities, deliver patient medication guidance, and uphold stringent compliance with drug regulations and pharmacy standards.
Key Duties
- Scrutinize and verify both paper and electronic prescriptions from licensed doctors, checking for drug interactions, dosing inaccuracies, contraindications, and duplicate therapies before dispensing.
- Provide detailed counseling to patients and their caregivers on medication instructions, appropriate storage, dosage timetables, possible side effects, and food or drug interactions.
- Supervise stock levels, monitor expiration dates, separate near-expiry and expired medicines, maintain proper cold storage for vaccines, insulin, and other temperature-sensitive items, and assist with vendor ordering and stock reconciliation.
- Ensure total adherence to Pharmacy Council mandates, drug control laws, and local retail licensing regulations. Keep comprehensive records including Schedule H, H1, X/narcotics registers, and maintain prescription logs ready for audits.
- Operate retail billing software such as Marg or Medvision; create GST-compliant invoices; manage payment transactions; and reconcile payments at shift end.
- Maintain an organized, tidy, and professional pharmacy environment and provide customer assistance on over-the-counter health products and first aid supplies.
Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution approved by the Pharmacy Council.
- Possession of a valid Registered Pharmacist license issued by the State Pharmacy Council is mandatory.
