Role Overview

As a Counsellor, you will deliver short-term, focused therapy sessions within a stepped care framework to diverse clients online. This permanent role expects delivery of six counselling sessions daily, helping clients build self-management skills and improve mental health. A multidisciplinary team supports you with supervision and escalation options.

The position requires at least four days weekly, including Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide solution-oriented, brief therapy to members following a stepped care approach.
• Conduct six virtual counselling sessions each day with individuals from varied cultural and age backgrounds.
• Encourage development of coping strategies to promote clients’ mental wellness.
• Collaborate with internal and external health professionals to create personalized care plans.
• Accurately document case notes adhering to best practice standards.
• Engage in ongoing clinical supervision, training, and quality reviews to maintain high standards.

Candidate Profile

• Holds at least a Bachelor's degree in Counselling recognized in Australia or New Zealand.
• Valid professional registration, specifically with NZAC.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering one-on-one therapy sessions with adults, including assessment and customized treatment planning.
• Proven background in evidence-based counselling methods.
• Completed at least 400 hours of formal counselling instruction and 140 hours of therapy delivery, including 40 hours during course placement.
• Committed to continuous improvement and quality-driven, evidence-supported care.
• Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and escalate issues as necessary.
• Resilient and adaptable to complex clinical scenarios.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and effective time management.
