Position Summary
The Recycling Coordinator serves as the primary internal contact for recycling operations, managing material sorting and disposal processes primarily outdoors. This full-time, hourly role is based on location and reports to Dottie Kelly within the ISO department.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and separate diverse construction and demolition debris for recycling purposes.
- Manage waste containers such as hoppers and dumpsters efficiently.
- Operate forklifts regularly to facilitate material handling.
- Collect, bundle, and manage cardboard and plastic materials.
- Utilize equipment including compactors and balers to process recyclables.
- Maintain wash water systems and oversee water treatment operations.
- Participate actively as a team member in Spill Response and Prevention efforts.
- Perform groundskeeping duties to maintain site cleanliness.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely according to protocols.
- Support material handling, receiving, production, and maintenance activities as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment frequently exposes employees to extreme weather conditions.
- Job mainly involves standing, with some bending and stretching.
