About the Role

The Rectification Controller position reports directly to the Forward Maintenance Manager. This role requires an experienced maintenance technician proficient in managing reporting tasks, manpower allocation, and prioritizing maintenance actions with a deep understanding of Typhoon aircraft systems and reporting protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team to ensure timely and accurate completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain precise recording of all maintenance activities and keep airworthiness records updated within relevant systems.
  • Manage Rectifications Control duties, including updating the ESS State Board and forecasting aircraft recovery times, and briefing authorized squadron pilots regarding aircraft limitations.
  • Perform maintenance and diagnostic activities such as ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional/system testing on aircraft and components.
  • Supervise maintenance schedules, address maintenance delays or issues, escalate concerns when necessary, and report impacts on the broader program.
  • Ensure team members are competent and authorized for the allocated maintenance tasks, maintaining regulatory compliance and personal task authorizations.
  • Meet agreed short-to-medium term delivery targets through supervision of personnel.
  • Support facility compliance by undertaking required support tasks within the aircraft or component maintenance environment.
  • Provide effective leadership, communication, and people management to develop and assess team members formally.
  • Evaluate faults during maintenance, raise corresponding work cards, and conduct essential inspections independently.
  • Manage performance indicators by setting targets, monitoring progress, and implementing improvement plans.
  • Comply with and promote adherence to regulatory frameworks, procedures, safety management systems, and the company's contractual requirements.
  • Oversee management system assurance, supporting audits, addressing non-compliance, and driving continuous improvements.
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of continuing airworthiness regulations and support related regulatory changes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed Engineering Apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent) preferably in Aeronautical Engineering or a recognized Engineering Degree related to aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics, or other relevant disciplines.
  • At least 2 years experience at a supervisory level before this role.
  • On the Job Training Instructional Techniques knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience applying aviation safety standards and operational practices.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience within aircraft maintenance component environments.
  • Maintained a logbook demonstrating skill, knowledge, and authorities for aircraft or bay work with recent 6 months on-type experience in the last 2 years.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance.
  • Management training including Typhoon Avionic or Mechanical Trade 'Q' Course or equivalent.
  • Certification in Human Factors, Equipment and Personnel Welfare (E&PW) Awareness, and ITAR Awareness as per standard course specifications.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
