Overview
This full-time role based in Durban requires delivering high-quality reception and front-of-house services while coordinating workplace facilities and supporting operational functions. The Receptionist will be the professional point of contact for visitors, clients, contractors, and employees, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth day-to-day front desk operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and professional reception services to all visitors and staff.
- Maintain consistent high standards of customer service and promptly address visitor or client issues.
- Oversee reception activities including switchboard operations, meeting room scheduling, and visitor management.
- Ensure reception areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Support workplace services by managing cleaning, hygiene, indoor plants, stationery, consumables, and beverage provisions.
- Coordinate with service providers and escalate maintenance or operational concerns appropriately.
- Assist in organizing workplace events and liaise with departments to meet operational needs.
- Perform daily workplace quality inspections and random service provider checks to uphold health, safety, cleanliness, and visual standards.
- Prepare and maintain regular operational reports covering telecommunications, consumables, visitor incidents, and overall performance metrics.
- Engage in continuous personal development and support training initiatives within the team.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience managing customer service and stakeholder interactions.
- Proficiency in reception and switchboard duties.
- Knowledge of facilities and soft services coordination.
- Ability to compile reports and maintain accurate records.
- Stock control and management of consumable items.

Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 (Matric) is mandatory.
- A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or related field is advantageous.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in receptionist, concierge, front-of-house, customer service, or related roles, preferably within hospitality, facilities management, or corporate workplace service environments.
- Experience managing soft services such as cleaning, hygiene, and workplace support operations.
