Role Overview

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) invites dedicated and motivated individuals to join the Agnes Water ranger team. This position offers the chance to oversee National Parks and Forest Environments, ideal for those who appreciate working outdoors, take pride in their efforts, and enjoy hands-on responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Rangers will manage approximately 70,000 hectares within protected areas, including Eurimbula National Park, Deepwater National Park, and Joseph Banks Conservation Park. Time is primarily spent in the field, maintaining natural and cultural values, plus performing tasks that involve asset care, groundskeeping, and upkeep of ranger facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Administrative duties such as record keeping, reporting, and documentation are integral to the role alongside managing competing priorities independently.

Candidate Profile

We seek an adaptable, positive all-rounder who thrives both independently and in a collaborative setting. Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to quality outcomes are essential. The role requires comfort operating in remote outdoor conditions and variable weather.

Preferred Experience and Skills

While formal qualifications in conservation or land management are valued, practical skills such as basic trade work, maintenance, or bushfire mitigation carry equal importance. Knowledge or experience in conservation, natural resource management, or park management principles will enhance candidacy.
