Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in generating diagnostic images that assist Radiologists in diagnosing and managing patient conditions effectively. You will perform multiple imaging procedures daily including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT scans, and MRI examinations, all while fostering a supportive patient environment through direct engagement.
Proficiency in imaging workflow, patient positioning, and capturing high-quality results is vital for ensuring accurate and prompt diagnoses.
- Carry out quality radiographic procedures following departmental protocols, including use of general radiographic equipment, portable devices, and operating room imaging tools.
- Apply appropriate immobilization methods, use correct imaging views, and ensure all images are properly labeled and marked with patient identification and initials.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment based on the requirements of each specific procedure; maintain cleanliness and readiness at shift end.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors and monitor supply levels to notify when restocking is needed.
- Confirm patient identity by using two identifiers such as name and date of birth, involving family members as needed for verification.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards for patients, self, and colleagues, ensuring correct use of shielding and compliance with exposure limits.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, their families, peers, and other hospital staff; use the AIDET communication model to enhance patient care and ensure patients understand the procedures.
- Adjust imaging techniques to accommodate patient age and condition for optimal results.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of educational requirements leading to appropriate licensure and certifications.
- Valid Medical Radiographer license for California.
- Certification in Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech for California.
- Certification or registration in one or more of the following specializations: Radiography (ARRT), Bone Densitometry, Computed Tomography, Cardio Interventional Radiography, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Quality Management, Radiation Therapy, Vascular Interventional Radiology, or Vascular Sonography.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior experience in Diagnostic Radiology is advantageous.

Compensation
The pay range for this role is $40.40 to $50.30 per hour.
