Job description

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in generating diagnostic images that assist Radiologists in diagnosing and managing patient conditions effectively. You will perform multiple imaging procedures daily including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT scans, and MRI examinations, all while fostering a supportive patient environment through direct engagement.

Proficiency in imaging workflow, patient positioning, and capturing high-quality results is vital for ensuring accurate and prompt diagnoses.

  • Carry out quality radiographic procedures following departmental protocols, including use of general radiographic equipment, portable devices, and operating room imaging tools.
  • Apply appropriate immobilization methods, use correct imaging views, and ensure all images are properly labeled and marked with patient identification and initials.
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment based on the requirements of each specific procedure; maintain cleanliness and readiness at shift end.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors and monitor supply levels to notify when restocking is needed.
  • Confirm patient identity by using two identifiers such as name and date of birth, involving family members as needed for verification.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards for patients, self, and colleagues, ensuring correct use of shielding and compliance with exposure limits.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, their families, peers, and other hospital staff; use the AIDET communication model to enhance patient care and ensure patients understand the procedures.
  • Adjust imaging techniques to accommodate patient age and condition for optimal results.

Required Qualifications
