Job description
About the Role
We seek a seasoned Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to contribute to the commercial and cost management aspects of significant infrastructure and water-sector projects within our project team.
Primary Duties
- Develop cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Track project expenditures and generate periodic cost reports.
- Evaluate and manage project variations, claims, and alterations.
- Analyze valuations and quotations provided by contractors and subcontractors.
- Assist in tendering processes, procurement activities, and contract administration.
- Conduct on-site visits to monitor project progress and related expenditure.
- Identify commercial risks and explore opportunities for cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other relevant parties.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of five years' experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or cost control roles.
- Past involvement in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or water-sector projects.
- Proven track record managing claims, variations, and rigorous cost control.
- Experience interfacing with contractors and subcontractors and handling associated commercial documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline.
- Prior work experience within Saudi Arabia is strongly preferred.
- Professional certification such as RICS or a comparable qualification is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are a plus.
