Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic construction team based in Dublin. This position offers a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary ranging from €65,000 to €85,000 depending on your experience. Candidates at intermediate to senior levels who are eager to advance their careers and play a key role in managing construction project finances and commercial aspects are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project costs, budgets, and financial reporting through each phase of construction.
  • Develop and review cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and prepare commercial reports.
  • Handle subcontractor procurement processes including tendering, appointments, and payment management.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and negotiate contract variations, claims, and final accounts accurately.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify commercial risks, and enforce cost control strategies.
  • Prepare interim valuations and payment applications to maintain cash flow.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, site personnel, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain precise commercial documentation and guarantee adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Provide commercial guidance to the broader project team to facilitate informed decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

  • Holder of a degree or a comparable qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and commercial management.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractor packages, valuations, contract variations, and final accounts.
  • Strong skills in cost management, negotiation, and financial analysis.
  • Keen commercial insight paired with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software such as CostX, Cubit, or similar tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively and meeting strict project deadlines.
