About Knight Property Group and Role Overview
Join the distinguished Knight Property Group, a reputable Scottish property developer and investor, as a Quantity Surveyor based in Edinburgh. This permanent, full-time contract opportunity involves key participation in delivering various development projects and managing an existing property portfolio. Regular travel across Scotland to different properties will be a part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising pricing strategies, tender documents, and supporting tender processes.
- Assisting with cost estimates, preparing tenders, analysing bids, negotiating contracts, and conducting feasibility studies.
- Tracking valuations and costs, managing changes, reporting financial updates to the Board, and assisting with final account settlements.
- Evaluating contractor valuations and variations and providing input on commercial and value management.
- Ensuring projects operate within budget, promptly identifying risks or cost issues that might affect financial performance.
- Contributing commercial and pricing insights for development projects and property maintenance efforts.
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Experienced with MS Word, Excel, and Project software.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset with a problem-solving "can do" approach.
- Skilled at forming positive working relationships with design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and supply chain contacts.
Additional Information
This role is ideally suited for candidates with prior Quantity Surveying experience within main contracting or housebuilding sectors who possess strong commercial awareness in costing, valuations, and value engineering. Project management experience is advantageous but not mandatory. The position offers an opportunity to be part of an ambitious and expanding property business with a diverse project portfolio.
