Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a solid track record of at least 5 years in the construction industry, ideally skilled in contract management and project cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Duties
- Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities, cost estimations, and budget management for various construction projects.
- Perform thorough quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings and project documentation.
- Prepare interim payment requests, valuations, and final account reconciliations.
- Assess and negotiate change orders, variations, and claims alongside project and site teams.
- Review subcontractor and supplier bids, quotations, and contracts for compliance and accuracy.
- Regularly visit construction sites to monitor progress and verify payment certifications.
- Generate detailed cost reports, budget forecasts, and cash flow analyses for project stakeholders.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities during all phases of the project.
- Engage and coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and relevant stakeholders effectively.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Support procurement activities including tender processes, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors.
- Keep comprehensive records of all financial and contractual documents related to costs.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar fields.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in quantity surveying within residential, commercial, or industrial construction contexts.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and quantity take-off tools such as Planswift, CostX, Candy, Bluebeam, or equivalents.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and specifications.
- Knowledgeable in major contract frameworks such as FIDIC, NEC, or JCT.
- Experience using ERP or project management software is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle demanding schedules and deadlines.
- High commercial understanding and business insight.
