Quantity Surveyor - Construction

Role Overview

This position involves managing various commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, including preparing progress claims, cost estimates, tender documentation, and evaluating subcontractor quotations. The candidate will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submissions related to project costs and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly progress claims and ensure follow-up.
• Assess completed work and compile necessary documentation for claims.
• Develop cost estimates, quotations, tender documents, and contract submissions.
• Analyze tender requirements including drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Perform quantity take-offs and detailed project cost breakdowns.
• Evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and review variation orders, additional work claims, and final accounts.
• Verify subcontractor progress claims and provide payment recommendations.
• Maintain communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams regarding commercial and contractual matters.
• Keep thorough records of contracts, claims, variations, and correspondence.
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all claims and tender documents.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or related field.
• Work experience in preparing construction progress claims and tender submissions.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, costing, and quantity measurement principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to tight deadlines.
