Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conduct quantity take-offs, and generate cost estimates for projects involving interior fit-out, joinery, renovations, and flooring.
  • Analyze architectural and interior design drawings along with tender documents to determine project specifications.
  • Calculate quantities needed for materials, labor, finishes, and other essential elements of fit-out works.
  • Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Compile detailed cost breakdowns, tender proposals, commercial quotations, and project budgets.
  • Review drawings and BOQs to detect omissions, inconsistencies, and possible cost deviations.
  • Collaborate with designers, draftsmen, project managers, procurement, and site teams to resolve technical and commercial inquiries.
  • Monitor costs related to materials, labor, project budgets, and variations to assist with financial oversight and profitability.
  • Keep precise estimation records and ensure punctual submission of quotations and tenders.
  • Contribute to value engineering efforts identifying expense reductions without sacrificing quality.

Prerequisites

  • Between 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in estimation or quantity surveying, preferably within UAE’s interior fit-out sector.
  • Expertise in interior fit-out, joinery, renovation, and finishing works is essential.
  • Capability to autonomously interpret AutoCAD drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD; familiarity with estimation or quantity take-off software is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of the UAE market suppliers, material prices, labor charges, and subcontractor rates.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and commercial talents.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Keen attention to detail and a realistic grasp of project implementation aspects.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate must be responsible, work precisely, respect deadlines, and appreciate the significant impact each BOQ and quotation has on project costs and the firm's profitability.
