Role Summary
The Quantitative Trader will join a hands-on trading team responsible for managing and enhancing live market-making strategies, while researching and prototyping new quantitative strategies. The role balances achieving strong performance and profit-and-loss results with deep analytical insight into markets and the technical implementation of trading methods.
Responsibilities
- Manage and refine live market-making strategies by adjusting quoting parameters, spreads, trade sizing, and hedging mechanisms, continuously assessing and improving performance.
- Research, prototype, and deploy new quantitative trading strategies covering various venues and asset categories.
- Conduct detailed analysis of execution quality, including fill rates, adverse selection, realized spreads, and trading costs.
- Operate within a configuration-as-code environment where strategy parameters are controlled through versioning, peer review, and software deployment processes.
- Monitor active trading to manage risk effectively during volatile market conditions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance trading systems and contribute code directly.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong quantitative reasoning with proficient application of statistical analysis to fast-moving, noisy data sets.
- Experience writing maintainable, production-level Python code, familiarity with version control systems, and capability to debug live systems under pressure.
- Proven ability to derive actionable insights from large market datasets and communicate findings clearly.
- Understanding of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technologies, and core trading concepts.
- Solid judgment regarding risk management, including deciding when to adjust trading size, hedge, or halt activity.
- A proactive approach with demonstrated initiative to identify opportunities, execute quickly, and drive projects forward.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in market making, high-frequency trading, or systematic execution strategies.
- Proficiency in the Rust programming language.
- Knowledge of decentralized finance (DeFi) and on-chain trade execution.
Location and Work Environment
The role is based in Dubai with an onsite working arrangement. The company also operates hybrid offices in London and Dubai.
