Job description
About Bruqe
Bruqe is a systems-intelligence advisory firm supporting leaders in making critical decisions amid uncertain, rapidly evolving conditions. The firm collaborates with clients from corporate, investment, and public sectors to address strategic issues including capital allocation, competitiveness, resilience, market expansion, technological investments, supply chain robustness, and major industrial or policy transformations. Bruqe integrates strategy, market insight, policy research, quantitative modeling, AI-driven analytics, causal and scenario modeling, and proprietary system-mapping tools. This integrated approach allows clients to understand the interplay of market, technological, policy, economic, and organizational factors to test strategies against various potential futures and identify impactful actions beyond simple forecasts.
The Role
This on-site, full-time position in Perth involves working closely with senior advisors throughout engagement phases—from shaping strategic questions through to delivery. Responsibilities include framing and conducting research on long-term uncertainty, transition risks, growth, and resilience by synthesizing diverse data and literature into actionable insights. You will develop scenario narratives, assumptions, uncertainty matrices, and early-warning indicators while contributing to systems maps and causal frameworks to reveal underlying dependencies and feedback loops. Additionally, support sensitivity analysis on strategic options and interpret the implications of various futures for strategy, capital allocation, and organizational capabilities. You will also help prepare clear, evidence-based client deliverables suitable for senior leadership discussions and contribute internally by enhancing Bruqe's knowledge base and foresight methodologies.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, public policy, engineering, business, international relations, sustainability, technology, or related disciplines.
- Background in strategy consulting, research, policy analysis, corporate planning, investment analysis, or other analytical environments.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and data interpretation skills with the ability to construct structured arguments and handle complex systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication capabilities for diverse audiences.
- Passion for strategic foresight, scenario planning, systems thinking, geopolitical dynamics, and technological or market shifts.
- Adept at multidisciplinary collaboration and comfortable managing uncertainty without relying on single-point projections.
- Knowledge of modeling, scenario analysis, or data visualization is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail under time constraints.
Success Metrics
Success will be measured by your capacity to guide clients from pervasive uncertainty towards disciplined strategic decision-making, highlighting critical forces that could influence outcomes and clarifying implications of different futures to support resilient decisions as uncertainty evolves.
