Quality Engineer

About the Role

Floking Pipes Private Limited is seeking a Quality Engineer with over five years of hands-on experience in the PVC pipe manufacturing or related plastic production industries. The role requires working from the factory premises in Sriperumbudur, Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute quality inspections during production, following predefined inspection plans and product specifications.
• Monitor the manufacturing process to detect any deviations or defects, and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Support laboratory testing activities per quality standards, ensuring timely sample handling and test execution.
• Liaise with laboratory personnel to obtain test results and maintain accurate testing documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive records including line inspection reports, test outcomes, quality logs, and production traceability information.
• Prepare detailed quality reports and manage quality data utilizing MS Excel efficiently.
• Assist and coordinate Third-Party Inspection (TPI) processes by submitting necessary documents, aiding inspection protocols, and ensuring resolution of observations.
• Ensure adherence to applicable quality standards, customer expectations, safety guidelines, and proper document control procedures.
• Collaborate proactively with Production, Laboratory, and Reporting managers on quality-related tasks and improvements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (BE), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Expertise in quality inspection and in-process quality control within manufacturing environments.
• Experience specifically with PVC pipe manufacturing or comparable plastic products.
• Proficient in laboratory testing coordination and understanding of Third-Party Inspection processes.
• Strong documentation skills, including quality record maintenance and data analysis using MS Excel.
• Knowledge of non-conformance reports and corrective and preventive action procedures (NCR/CAPA).
