Job description
Role Overview
Our client, a global enterprise active in both the primary and secondary protein industries, seeks a Quality Coordinator to join their team in Waterford. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this position involves supporting the execution, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of the company's Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance program aligned with globally recognized standards.
- Maintain and progressively improve quality systems to satisfy audit and certification protocols.
- Undertake domestic and international travel to engage with suppliers and customers as needed.
- Perform supplier audits and site inspections evaluating manufacturing processes, confirming product specification adherence, and assisting in the development, validation, and enhancement of product specifications and technical documents.
- Visit customers to discuss quality metrics, product requirements, and contribute toward customer satisfaction efforts.
- Gain deep insight into business workflows and operational procedures to uncover process improvement and efficiency opportunities.
- Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality performance metrics and reports.
- Complete customer quality documentation and respond to questionnaire requests.
- Oversee supplier approval cycles based on defined quality procedures.
- Investigate customer complaints promptly and implement corrective measures effectively.
- Draft, review, and maintain detailed product specifications.
- Review quality and process elements of commercial documentation and contracts.
- Conduct internal audits of both the Quality Management and ERP systems.
- Assist in developing, updating, and managing quality-related documentation, procedures, and SOPs.
- Provide training to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a company-wide culture emphasizing quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Engage proactively and hands-on in quality assurance activities across all business areas.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant experience within the food manufacturing sector or a related third-level qualification in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a similar field.
- Familiarity with BRCGS standards, HACCP principles, and applicable food safety legislation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
- Support for professional growth will be provided, including mentoring and role-specific training.
