Position Purpose

The Quality Control Officer will ensure adherence to quality standards for raw materials, intermediates, packaging, and finished products by conducting systematic sampling, testing, analysis, documentation, and reporting. The role supports product innovation, customer trials, and maintenance of quality systems in line with organizational policies and ISO quality management requirements. The officer will work across multiple chemical product categories including polymers, resins, and specialty chemicals, ensuring all outputs meet defined customer and compliance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control testing and analysis for materials and finished goods, reporting non-conformities using appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct laboratory synthesis and testing to develop and evaluate customer-targeted products and pilot batches.
  • Carry out sampling and inspections according to approved guidelines, maintaining comprehensive records of these activities.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standardize testing procedures to ensure reliable and consistent results.
  • Coordinate with marketing for timely sample dispatch and support product evaluations and customer-specific technical requirements, including occasional travel for onsite trials and assessments.
  • Keep laboratory environments organized and safe, adhere to regulatory and company safety policies, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree preferably in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Analytical Chemistry.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in the Quality Control function within chemical manufacturing or specialty chemicals industries.
  • Competence certification as applicable.

  • Strong documentation and record-keeping aligned with ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Analytical thinking with problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to support technical evaluations.

Working Conditions

  • Work primarily based in laboratory and manufacturing plant environments.
  • May require occasional travel to customer locations for product trials and technical support engagements.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols including personal protective equipment (PPE) use.
