Quality Control Inspector - Piping & Welding

Position Overview

We are looking to recruit experienced Quality Control Inspectors specializing in piping and welding to support our project based in Eastern Saudi Arabia. The role involves ensuring that piping installation, welding, and related fabrication activities comply with stringent project specifications, industry codes, and Saudi Aramco standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of piping materials, fabrication, welding, installation, and associated testing activities to verify conformance with approved procedures and quality standards.
• Perform visual quality checks and supervise hydrostatic, pneumatic, welding, and other mandated testing processes.
• Review and analyze drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), welding procedures, and comprehensive quality documentation.
• Maintain adherence to recognized codes including ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME Sections V & IX, API 620, API 650, and AWS D1.1 throughout inspection processes.
• Carry out welding inspection tasks and validate related certifications to ensure compliance.
• Inspect, review, and validate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) programs, procedures, and reports; conduct or supervise VT, MT, PT, RT, and UT tests with valid certifications.
• Possess ASNT Level II certification for applicable NDT methods when performing inspections or overseeing NDT functions.
• Handle Radiographic Testing Film Interpretation (RTFI) duties with appropriate certification.
• Generate and maintain thorough records including inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Work closely with construction teams, engineering staff, and clients to address and resolve quality issues, ensuring compliance with project requirements and Saudi Aramco standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Between 8 and 10 years of proven experience as a QC Inspector in piping and/or welding disciplines, particularly within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Holders of AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent welding inspection certifications approved by the company for welding inspectors.
• Valid ASNT Level II certification in relevant NDT techniques where applicable.
• Certified for respective VT, MT, PT, RT, UT, and RTFI inspection methods as required by the role.
• Preference given to ex-Saudi Aramco employees holding valid SAP Numbers; applicants should provide their SAP Number and approval documentation if available.
• Extensive familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards, quality procedures, and applicable codes and specifications.
