About the Role

Join ABB to contribute towards making industries more efficient and environmentally friendly. As a Quality Assurance Specialist reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support the local manufacturing unit in building capabilities to effectively control product quality and system integrity. Your daily tasks will ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and industry standards, all within a safe and cost-effective environment. You will also actively participate in establishing and implementing standards and testing methodologies, guaranteeing that only compliant products, software, and services reach the customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned test protocols to verify that products, systems, or software conform to set specifications and customer expectations across various stages including incoming inspections, manufacturing, factory testing, and final quality checks, such as Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide quality control support across supplier quality, production, testing, validation, and engineering activities within the local organization.
  • Conduct and assist with specialized quality-related training sessions aimed at fostering a commitment to quality and integrity, emphasizing results-oriented actions.
  • Gather, document, and analyze data according to ABB's internal standards, client norms, and national or international standards, maintaining strict data integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full-time degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Between 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in In-Process Quality management of Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear (specifically AIS technology).
  • Proven expertise in conducting product and supplier audits, preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), developing Quality Assurance plans, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Solid understanding of IEC 62271-100 and IEC 62271-200 standards along with the capability to interpret schematic drawings.
  • Proficiency in SAP SD and QM modules plus practical knowledge of the application of 7 Quality Control tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive quality enhancements through collaboration across departments and with suppliers.
  • Track record of maintaining compliance, improving processes, and upholding high-quality benchmarks in switchgear manufacturing.
