Qualified Maintenance Technician

About The Role

We are currently inviting applications for a Qualified Maintenance Technician to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging team located in Ballymacarbry, County Waterford, Ireland. This full-time position involves working a two-cycle shift pattern and focuses on supporting production through reliable equipment maintenance, minimizing downtime, and fostering continuous improvements while upholding the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out both preventative and corrective maintenance on production and process machinery.
• Facilitate efficient line changeovers to meet production schedules.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and the commissioning process.
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLC systems, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and vision systems.
• Utilize 3D technical drawings and schematics for maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams.

Requirements

• Possession of a Level 8 degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience following qualification within a pharmaceutical or other highly regulated manufacturing setting.
• Comprehensive multi-skilled maintenance expertise encompassing both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Demonstrated proficiency in equipment reliability enhancement and performance optimization.
• Practical knowledge of PLC programming and fault diagnosis.
• Experience working with HMI and vision-based systems.
• Competency in reading and interpreting complex technical and 3D drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented approach with a firm commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.
• Availability and willingness to work according to a two-cycle shift roster.
