About the Role

We are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice located in County Kildare, Ireland. This is a permanent full-time position offering a significant level of independence for an experienced practice accountant who is confident handling technical accounting responsibilities and managing their own workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalize annual accounts and financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Manage accounts preparation beginning from trial balance through to completion.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Prepare and submit Corporation Tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Complete Income Tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Handle VAT and PAYE returns alongside other related compliance requirements.
  • Prepare Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) returns as required.
  • Conduct CRO filings and support company secretarial duties.
  • Generate financial reports and supporting schedules as necessary.
  • Review bookkeeping records, identify necessary adjustments and confirm accuracy of accounts.
  • Manage various accounting and tax assignments for a diverse SME and owner-managed business client portfolio.
  • Ensure all statutory, Revenue, and CRO filing deadlines are consistently met.
  • Maintain precise working papers and comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director on accounting and taxation matters within the practice.
  • Contribute to the smooth daily operation of accounting and compliance service delivery.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CPA accountant.
  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Strong familiarity with Irish taxation laws including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, CGT, and CAT.
  • Hands-on experience with CRO filings and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work autonomously and manage workload independently.
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience with accountancy and tax software.
