QA/QC Engineer

Overview

We seek a highly experienced Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineer to work on a significant infrastructure and Drainage, Network Operations & Maintenance (DNO&M) project located in Qatar. This is a full-time, long-term position based onsite in Doha.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve annual Quality Plans submitted by Framework Contractors to confirm alignment with company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Perform inspections of contractor activities to verify adherence to contractual quality obligations.
• Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and oversee their proper execution.
• Support both internal audits and undertake Second Party / Framework Contractor audits.
• Analyze QA/QC reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), observations, and inspection documentation.
• Manage the resolution process for Technical Queries (TQs), Concession Requests (CRs), and NCRs.
• Conduct audits for preparedness during rainy seasons and perform inspections for handover of new assets or projects.
• Carry out inspections related to spare parts and witness critical inspection and testing procedures.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports when necessary to document deviations.
• Maintain and update QA/QC policies, manuals, procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Coordinate QA/QC efforts with Area Engineers, Framework Contractors, and other departments.
• Provide expert guidance on complex, high-risk, and interdisciplinary QA/QC matters.
• Encourage continuous quality enhancement and help identify relevant training needs.
• Ensure adherence to new business processes, suggest improvements, and uphold Health & Safety standards.
• Escalate complex technical concerns to Engineering Advisors or Experts as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, earned from institutions in North America, Western Europe, or Australia.
• Over 10 years of substantial experience in QA/QC functions.
• Preferably chartered membership in a recognized professional engineering body.
• Proven expertise in implementing and sustaining Quality Management Systems compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 standards.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary organizational settings, ideally with Middle East work exposure.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety protocols and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
• Physical capability to enter confined spaces and complete required competency assessments.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Candidates with significant QA/QC experience in major civil infrastructure, utilities, drainage, wastewater treatment, or DNO&M sectors—particularly with Middle Eastern experience—are especially encouraged to apply.
