Job description
Quality Inspection and Control
Oversee and conduct inspections of aerospace mechanical components at various stages: incoming, in-process, and final. Examine CNC-machined, turned, milled, fabricated, and precision-engineered parts for compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Use tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensional accuracy. Analyze engineering drawings including GD&T, tolerances, and technical data. Collaborate with CMM operators and evaluate dimensional inspection reports.
Aerospace Quality Standards
Ensure adherence to relevant quality management frameworks like AS9100 and ISO 9001. Comply with customer-specific quality requirements and aerospace documentation protocols. Maintain traceability chains covering raw materials, components, production batches, and inspection logs. Validate material test certificates (MTC), certificates of conformity (CoC), and other necessary quality records.
Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions
Detect, record, and manage non-conforming products and process deviations. Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective follow-ups. Apply root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis. Enforce corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) and verify their success. Assist in rejection evaluations and customer complaint handling.
Quality Documentation
Create and upkeep inspection and quality documentation, including first article inspection reports in line with AS9102 standards. Manage control plans, inspection schedules, check sheets, and process quality records. Guarantee the calibration and traceability of all measurement and testing instruments.
Process Improvement and Audits
Keep track of manufacturing processes to minimize defects, rework, and scrap. Engage in internal, supplier, and customer quality audits. Support process capability analyses, statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate cross-functionally with production, design, procurement, and supplier quality teams to resolve quality challenges.
Supplier and Customer Quality
Assist in supplier quality inspections and verification of incoming materials. Review supplier inspection reports and certification documents. Liaise with customers during inspections, quality assessments, and audits. Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints and quality corrective actions.
