About the Role
We are looking for a meticulous Mid-Level Software QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team based in Bengaluru. This role involves ensuring the high quality, reliability, and efficiency of our web applications through comprehensive testing at both frontend and backend layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain dependable and scalable automated tests for web applications, primarily using Python and Playwright frameworks.
- Conduct comprehensive testing spanning UI/UX as well as backend components including REST APIs and microservices, using both automation and manual testing methods.
- Analyze logs systematically from system, application, and server sources to identify causes of test failures and bugs, providing in-depth technical reports to development teams.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes with automated test suites ensuring regression tests on every build.
- Manage defect life-cycle effectively using bug tracking tools such as JIRA, prioritizing and resolving issues collaboratively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—software developers, product owners, and DevOps—to set early quality standards, testing strategies, and acceptance criteria during the development phases.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Over 3 years of professional experience in software QA automation in commercial environments.
- Strong expertise in Python programming specifically for test automation and scripting tasks.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright testing tools for web apps; transitioning experience from Selenium or Cypress to Playwright is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in RESTful API testing utilizing mocks and tools such as Python testing libraries or Postman.
- Experience in reading and interpreting log files (e.g., console logs, server logs) to expedite debugging and issue resolution processes.
- Competent with GIT version control systems including branching and pull request workflows.
- Experience working agile teams following Scrum methodologies and utilizing tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure services (CloudWatch, S3, EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS) to support monitoring of test environments or executing cloud-based automation.
- Basic knowledge of container technologies such as Docker for local or CI/CD pipeline test environment setup.
- Exposure to performance or load testing tools like Locust or JMeter is a plus.
