About the Role
We are partnered with a premier quantitative trading firm in London seeking proficient Python Software Engineers to develop highly efficient, advanced technology systems integral to their global investment operations. This opportunity offers close collaboration with traders and quantitative professionals within a multi-asset trading environment, focusing on high-performance Python development, cutting-edge infrastructure, and meaningful technical autonomy with substantial financial incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain high-performance Python backend applications central to global trading platforms.
- Address complex engineering challenges involving large financial datasets, prioritizing optimization for performance, scalability, and system reliability.
- Engage directly with quantitative and investment teams to deliver critical trading technology solutions.
- Exercise comprehensive ownership over projects, driving architecture decisions and overseeing development from inception through to implementation with minimal bureaucratic overhead.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- At least 4 years of rigorous Python development experience, preferably within investment banking, hedge funds, or trading firms.
- Strong backend engineering skills, with a track record of building intricate, production-grade systems.
- Solid understanding of financial markets and asset classes such as Equities, FX, Credit, Rates, etc.
- Passion for solving complex technical issues, a focus on performance, and enthusiasm for closer involvement with the investment aspects of the business.
