Python Developer

Position Overview

We seek skilled software engineers at a technical lead level who have experience with well-regarded public GitHub repositories to join our development team. The role demands practical software engineering tasks including automating development environments, managing GitHub issues, and assessing testing quality.

Daily Responsibilities

• Analyze and prioritize issues from prominent open-source libraries on GitHub.
• Configure and set up code repositories, including containerization with Docker and environment preparation.
• Assess unit test coverage and overall test effectiveness.
• Execute and modify code locally to evaluate language model (LLM) capabilities in fixing bugs.
• Work closely with research teams to select challenging repositories and identify issues that test LLM performance.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on collaborative coding projects.

Essential Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong skills with Git version control, Docker containerization, and basic software pipeline configuration.
• Capability to comprehend and navigate complex software codebases efficiently.
• Experience in running, adapting, and testing actual software projects in local environments.
• Background in contributing to or evaluating open-source software is beneficial.

Preferred Skills

• Previous involvement in research or evaluation related to large language models (LLM).
• Experience developing or testing tools aimed at automating developer workflows or creating automation agents.
