Job description
About the Company
Our client is a well-established New Zealand business, part of a larger international group, operating diverse iconic local and global brands across multiple sites nationwide. The environment is characterized by a fast pace and high volume, serving some of New Zealand's most recognized consumer brands.
Role Overview
The company seeks an experienced Purchasing or Procurement professional to join their Supply Chain team on an initial three-month contract. The main focus is to support the implementation of a new Supplier Relationship Management platform. This position is not responsible for the technical aspects of the system roll-out as technical implementation is handled by the system provider; instead, the role demands ownership of the broader project coordination and progress management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Purchasing team with daily operational priorities.
- Own internal delivery aspects of the supplier system implementation project.
- Coordinate activities among internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the system provider.
- Drive the project timeline, monitor actions, follow-up on deliverables, and ensure progress.
- Gather and organize supplier data and information essential for implementation.
- Support testing phases including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assess readiness for implementation.
- Proactively follow up and hold stakeholders accountable for their responsibilities.
- Identify issues early to prevent overlooked tasks or problems.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in Purchasing or Procurement, preferably within FMCG, retail, hospitality, or other fast-moving consumer sectors.
- Prior participation in systems implementation, transformation, or comparable projects.
- Exceptional skills in managing stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adept at handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Confident in enforcing accountability and following through on action items.
- Capable of entering an ongoing project, quickly understanding priorities, and driving tasks independently.
- Strong communication skills combined with a hands-on, practical approach.
- Permitted to work in New Zealand with immediate availability.
