Job description
Position Summary
Located in Goulburn, NSW, this role demands a seasoned purchaser to oversee procurement activities for a significant infrastructure project. The professional will handle tasks such as sourcing, supplier interaction, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating deliveries to align with project timelines.
Key Duties
- Oversee requests for quotations (RFQs), obtain supplier quotes, and manage purchase order issuance.
- Engage and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and delivery schedules.
- Monitor orders closely to ensure timely delivery in support of project needs.
- Collaborate with departments including Warehouse, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance for smooth procurement workflows.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- More than five years of professional experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Proficient in handling RFQs, supplier negotiations, managing purchase orders, and expediting shipments.
- Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP platforms.
- Excellent commercial acumen along with strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Prior exposure to sectors such as construction, infrastructure, energy, mining, or heavy industry is advantageous.
