Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Purchasing Officer to join our Palmwoods manufacturing location. In this permanent full-time position, you will report to the Supply Planning Manager and manage procurement for indirect materials and services essential to site operations. Coordination with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, finance teams, and external suppliers is key to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct indirect material purchasing, including raising and processing purchase orders following company protocols.
• Collaborate with suppliers for timely delivery and proactively address supply challenges.
• Assist operational teams with purchasing needs ensuring strict adherence to procurement policies including "No PO No Pay".
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and contribute to forecast coordination supporting business demands.
• Track supplier performance and support sourcing efforts along with commercial negotiations.
• Update and maintain procurement and supplier master data within QAD ERP, ensuring pricing, item details, and scheduling accuracy.
• Generate procurement reports and analyses for KPI tracking, supplier reviews, and product costing evaluations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, compliance audits, governance, cost savings, and productivity enhancements.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or similar analytical roles, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, ideally QAD, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication to manage stakeholders and cultivate supplier partnerships.
• Proactive approach with dedication to continuous improvement.
• Well-versed in procurement governance, compliance procedures, and purchasing controls.

Success Metrics

The ideal candidate will ensure uninterrupted availability of indirect materials and services to support site operations, demonstrate compliance with procurement procedures, and provide exemplary service to internal teams. You will establish strong supplier collaborations, maintain precise procurement data, deliver insightful reporting, and drive cost and process improvements to enhance purchasing effectiveness at the Palmwoods facility.
