Purchasing Executive

About the Role

Katyayani Organics is seeking a Junior Purchase Executive to join their procurement team in Bhopal. The role centers on managing procurement activities specifically related to packaging materials, ensuring smooth production and dispatch processes by maintaining consistent material availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure packaging supplies including bottles, caps, HDPE/LDPE containers, laminates, pouches, labels, cartons, shrink film, and corrugated boxes.
• Conduct enquiries, gather quotations, create comparison sheets, and assist in negotiating prices, payment terms, and delivery dates.
• Create and release purchase orders using the ERP system and monitor the status until receipt of materials.
• Collaborate with production, planning, stores, and quality control teams to assess material needs and usage patterns.
• Follow up with suppliers on shipment schedules, pending deliveries, and fulfillment commitments.
• Support supplier development efforts by identifying and assessing alternate vendors based on cost, quality, and reliability.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes, coordinating with accounting for prompt payment processing.
• Maintain comprehensive purchasing records, vendor data, rate histories, and procurement MIS reports.
• Help oversee inventory control by tracking stock levels, reorder points, and preventing shortages or surpluses.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Graduation in any field; degrees in Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, or diplomas in Supply Chain or Materials Management are preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of procurement or purchase experience, particularly handling packaging materials.
• Familiarity with different packaging material types, specifications, and market pricing.
• Strong negotiation and vendor coordination capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP platforms like SAP or Tally.
• Excellent follow-up skills, detail orientation, and record management discipline.
• Effective communicator in both Hindi and English.

Preferred Experience

• Background in agriculture, agricultural inputs, agrochemicals, fertilizers, or seed industries.
• Knowledge of packaging standards and labeling for agricultural products.
• Experience in vendor development and implementing cost-reduction strategies.
