About the Role
We are in search of an experienced Purchase Manager to oversee procurement activities focussing on dry fruits, FMCG products, and food commodities. The ideal candidate must possess deep market insight, robust supplier relationships, and exceptional negotiation abilities to secure quality goods at optimal prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complete procurement processes for dry fruits, nuts, spices, FMCG items, and raw materials.
- Source, assess, and cultivate reliable supplier and vendor partnerships.
- Negotiate pricing, quality standards, payment conditions, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with current suppliers while expanding sourcing channels.
- Track market price fluctuations to identify advantageous purchasing opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with inventory, warehouse, accounting, and management teams to align procurement with stock and sales forecasts.
- Conduct supplier comparisons and gather competitive quotations.
- Monitor product quality, specifications, and handle issues related to waste and rejection.
- Manage purchase documents, orders, and supplier records systematically.
- Create alternative supplier options to minimize procurement risks and enhance profit margins.
- Maintain precise purchase records and compile regular management information system (MIS) reports.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within dry fruits, FMCG, food ingredients, or raw material trading sectors.
- Strong familiarity with dry fruits and food commodity markets is highly advantageous.
- Excellent skills in negotiation and vendor management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of market trends relating to quality and pricing.
- Good communication and analytical capability.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP or similar procurement software.
- Existing supplier or vendor contacts are beneficial.
