Purchase Executive

About the Role

We seek a dedicated Purchase Executive experienced in the FMCG, Food, or Bakery sectors to efficiently manage procurement activities. This full-time position, based in Gurugram, Haryana, involves sourcing, negotiating, and timely procurement of materials while maintaining detailed purchase records.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily purchasing and procurement operations.
• Identify and source dependable suppliers for raw materials and packaging.
• Obtain and analyze vendor quotations, assessing price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize procurement costs.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders following approval protocols.
• Coordinate with suppliers to secure timely delivery and follow up on pending orders.
• Liaise with Stores, Production, Quality, and Accounts departments to align material requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive purchase documentation including vendor details, quotations, and invoices.
• Verify supplier invoices and work in tandem with Accounts for payment processing.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and monitor supplier performance.
• Ensure procurement complies with company quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage urgent purchase orders to support uninterrupted production.
• Maintain records and data accurately in ERP or relevant software and Excel.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Solid understanding of procurement within FMCG, Food, or Bakery industries.
• Strong negotiation abilities and effective communication with vendors.
• Knowledge of raw and packaging materials pertinent to the industry.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP or purchase management software.
• Good analytical capabilities with strong follow-up skills.
• Ability to handle multiple purchasing tasks simultaneously.
• Coordination and issue-resolution skills.
• Familiarity with purchase documentation including Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt Notes, and invoices.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Graduate degree in any discipline; diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Commerce is advantageous.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant purchase or procurement experience, preferably in FMCG, food processing, bakery, or manufacturing sectors.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience managing procurement of food raw materials, packaging, and consumables.
• Availability to join immediately or with a brief notice period.
