About Vicara PR

Vicara PR is a communications firm based in Mumbai specializing in creating impactful narratives that connect brands to their target audiences and enhance their reputations. The agency focuses on areas such as media relations, thought leadership, strategic communications, crisis management, and digital PR, with a particular emphasis on financial services.

Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Mumbai. The selected Public Relations Manager will oversee media relations for BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) clients, cultivating strong relationships with business reporters and media professionals, and executing strategic PR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage media relations for a range of BFSI clients, including banks, NBFCs, fintech firms, AMCs, wealth management companies, and organizations preparing for public listing.
  • Pitch stories, obtain interviews, bylines, and feature articles in prominent business and financial media outlets.
  • Develop and nurture trust-based relationships with journalists, editors, and TV producers across print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
  • Design and implement PR strategies surrounding corporate results, funding events, product launches, regulatory updates, and leadership visibility.
  • Compose press releases, media statements, briefing notes, Q&A documents, and articles showcasing thought leadership.
  • Facilitate interview preparations and media briefings for company spokespersons.
  • Track media coverage and generate reports on outcomes relevant to clients' goals.
  • Provide rapid and informed support during crises and sensitive issue communications.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop accurate, compliant, and newsworthy messaging.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in a PR agency or corporate communications, with direct involvement in BFSI clients including banking, NBFCs, fintech, insurance, mutual funds, and capital markets.
  • Robust and active media contacts with business and financial journalists — the most critical qualification for this role.
  • Sound understanding of financial markets and regulatory frameworks such as SEBI and RBI guidelines, awareness of quiet periods, and compliance with disclosure standards.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to translate detailed financial information into compelling stories that resonate with journalists.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills and diligence in follow-through.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment that encourages collaboration.

Why Work With Us

You will engage with impactful financial services campaigns, interact directly with senior leadership, and be part of a team that highly values and rewards your media network and expertise.

Additional Information

Applications should include a resume accompanied by a brief note detailing one BFSI-related story the applicant successfully placed and is proud of.
