About the Role
Join a dynamic team devoted to client-centered care at APM New Zealand. We are looking for a skilled clinician to contribute their psychological expertise within our ACC service pathways. This role, based in Christchurch, involves both assessment and therapeutic interventions, including mental injury and neuropsychological evaluations (such as MICPI and WRMI), as well as evidence-based treatments under ACC Psychological Services, Pain Management, Concussion, and Training for Independence programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a clinical workload averaging 6.5 hours of client contact daily.
- Operate across various contracts including ACC Sensitive Claims, Psychological Services, Training for Independence, Pain Management, Police referrals, and private clients.
- Deliver evidence-based talking therapies.
- Produce thorough, high-quality clinical assessments and detailed reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration for client treatment.
- Treatment-focused positions require proficiency in interventions such as CBT, ACT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, emphasizing functional rehabilitation and outcome-oriented therapy.
- Assessment-focused roles include conducting independent psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, diagnosing conditions, assessing causation and functional impacts, and preparing ACC-aligned reports.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Strong skills in psychological formulation, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Proven ability to complete quality clinical assessments and report writing.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach within team settings.
- Superior time management capability with independence in prioritizing tasks.
- For neuropsychology assessment roles, possession of vocational registration as a clinical or neuropsychologist plus postgraduate neuropsychology coursework is mandatory.
- Must have a full current New Zealand driver's license and be a New Zealand or Australian citizen.
