Position Purpose

The Project Technical Manager will report to the Project Manager or Director and join the Engineering Business Line focused on Project Execution. This role involves managing and overseeing all project engineering and technical activities, guaranteeing compliance with contract terms, objectives, and delivery timelines while adhering to cost and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts ensuring alignment with project goals, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
• Design and implement the project engineering framework, including workforce planning and collaboration with discipline leads.
• Ensure seamless application of technological and engineering solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle up to plant commissioning.
• Engage in project planning and scheduling, supervising engineering outputs and outsourcing approaches.
• Direct risk management, conduct design reviews, and foster interdisciplinary coordination to optimize technical solutions.
• Assume responsibility for vital technical decisions, resolving inter-disciplinary conflicts while aligning with project objectives.
• Oversee engineering financials including budgets, labor hours, and material expenditures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Assist the Project Manager in client relations, contract administration, variation management, and technical negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or a related field.
• Between 10 to 15 years of professional experience in engineering or project roles, with demonstrated leadership in EPC projects within oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure domains.
• Full professional proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian, French, or Arabic is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of engineering design stages spanning concept development through to commissioning.
• Proven expertise managing engineering projects, planning, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Skilled in risk management, cost oversight, and engineering budgeting processes.
• Solid knowledge of international engineering codes, standards, quality assurance, quality control, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Competent in handling interfaces with clients, licensors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and familiarity with engineering document management systems; experience with ERP solutions like SAP is advantageous.

Additional Details

This role offers the unique chance to contribute to international projects, including travel and support for operations across EMEA, offshore, and onshore locations.

Contract Type: Permanent, project-based position.

Working Hours: 45 hours per week, generally 9 hours daily over 5 days.

Availability: For Technical Clerk roles within Offshore Operations, 24/7 availability is required.

Location: Doha, Qatar.
