Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure maintenance team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role entails managing project costs, preparing precise measurements, and maintaining strict budget control throughout infrastructure maintenance projects’ life cycle. The successful candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and cost-efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and analyze bills of quantities (BoQ) for infrastructure maintenance projects.
- Conduct thorough cost estimations, forecasting, and budget evaluations supporting project financial planning and control.
- Track and monitor project expenditures, providing consistent cost reporting to management and stakeholders.
- Handle contract administration tasks, including managing variations, claims, and change orders per contract stipulations.
- Perform quantity measurements and valuations according to project requirements and industry criteria.
- Keep detailed project documentation and maintain cost databases for auditing and reference.
- Review supplier quotations and negotiate prices to optimize procurement expenses.
- Identify financial risks in projects and suggest mitigation approaches.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to UAE construction laws, standards, and corporate policies.
- Prepare financial statements and progress reports for executive review and decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
- Three to five years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in cost management within construction or infrastructure maintenance.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, budget oversight, and financial forecasting.
- Competence with quantity surveying software such as Bluebeam, Touchplan, or equivalent tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Project.
- Strong understanding of construction contract administration, procurement procedures, and local building regulations in the UAE.
- Familiarity with CAD software and ERP systems is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and sharp attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with effective time management.
- Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost management is preferred.
