About the Role
TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a diligent and proactive Project Planner / Resource Coordinator to join a well-established Electrical Services company located in Bandon, Cork, Ireland. This permanent position involves managing labor, resources, and project timelines across various electrical, industrial, commercial, and maintenance assignments. Collaborating closely with Contracts Managers, Project Leads, and on-site personnel, the successful candidate will ensure effective planning, resource coordination, and early identification of upcoming requirements.
The ideal applicant will have a solid grasp of construction operations and possess strong organizational and communication skills. While prior experience as a construction planner is not mandatory, a practical mindset and ability to coordinate multiple projects is essential, with opportunities for growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate labor and resources over multiple simultaneous projects.
- Maintain and update the company's Master Plan, project schedules, and planning boards.
- Prepare and manage a rolling 3-week labor and resource forecast to identify potential conflicts and shortages.
- Create and sustain short-term look-ahead programs to support project timelines.
- Engage closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to monitor project progress and anticipate requirements.
- Track project milestones, status, and key dates meticulously.
- Identify resource conflicts, delays, and constraints proactively.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure all project needs are met.
- Facilitate clear communication channels between office personnel and site teams.
- Contribute to delivering projects safely, on time, and within the allocated budget.
- Support the continuous improvement and standardization of the company's planning and scheduling methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with planning, scheduling, or project management software or systems.
- Practical knowledge of construction project lifecycles, from initiation to completion.
- Background in construction or trades is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience in construction, electrical contracting, engineering, or project coordination is beneficial.
- Proactive work ethic with ownership to follow through on tasks and keep projects progressing.
- Capacity to collaborate with both office-based and field teams.
- Possession of a valid, full, clean driving license.
