Project Manager - Water

About the Role

Join the Water team in Christchurch as a Project Manager with WSP, a leading global professional services firm. You'll have the chance to contribute to significant multidisciplinary projects that impact communities positively. This position requires blending technical expertise, commercial insight, and focused delivery skills by collaborating with local and national teams.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for overseeing projects from the initial planning phase through to completion, maintaining control over budgets, resource allocation, and quality standards. Establishing and nurturing client and stakeholder relationships is essential, alongside managing project teams and coordinating with sub-consultants. Effective and transparent communication of project progress and performance is required.

Moreover, you will contribute to reinforcing quality project management practices within the Water sector, mentor junior Project Managers, and engage in technical activities like investigations, feasibility studies, design development, and documentation.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a similar discipline.
• Have a minimum of six years’ professional experience in engineering, infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Demonstrate a successful record of managing multidisciplinary projects, handling scopes, timelines, budgets, risks, and client communications.
• Experience in the water sector is preferred; previous roles in professional service consultancies or infrastructure projects are highly regarded.
• Familiarity with New Zealand contract forms such as NZS 3910 is advantageous, as is holding project management accreditation or certification.
• Hold a current, clean driving licence.
