Project Manager – Building Construction

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead building construction projects from initial planning through to successful completion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional project management capabilities, clear communication skills, and a proven track record in supervising construction projects with an emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Primary Duties

• Formulate detailed project plans covering scheduling, resource management, budgeting, and procurement approaches.
• Oversee, coordinate, and direct construction operations to ensure projects meet deadlines and specifications.
• Assess and select qualified contractors and subcontractors, prioritizing experience, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Track project progress using key performance indicators and provide consistent progress reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, applicable building codes, and legal requirements.
• Manage project documents, including contracts, permits, drawings, requests for information, change orders, and records.
• Conduct regular meetings to evaluate project status, address challenges, and maintain alignment with goals.
• Deliver comprehensive project updates detailing milestones, financial aspects, risks, and overall performance.
• Enforce safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free workplace for all staff.
• Coordinate efforts between clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal personnel to facilitate effective execution.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Have a minimum of seven years’ experience specifically in building construction projects, with preference for those having fifteen or more years.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience managing comprehensive construction projects from start to finish.
• Display thorough knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, procurement procedures, budgeting, and contract oversight.
• Be familiar with local construction codes and safety regulations.
• Exhibit strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain proficient English speaking and listening abilities.
• Be skilled in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and project management tools.
