Job description
About Ryft
Ryft is an authorised payment institution and regulated payment facilitator focused on building the foundational infrastructure for modern commerce platforms. Their technology supports marketplaces, SaaS offerings, and multi-party ecosystems by enabling embedded, native payments with features like onboarding, compliance, orchestration, split payments, and revenue sharing. This allows Ryft's partners to prioritize growth while Ryft handles technical complexity.
The company is now scaling further, expanding into new markets and developing a standout embedded payments platform.
The Role
The Project Manager will collaborate closely with software teams to plan and ensure the delivery of projects aligned to the product and engineering roadmap. The role involves partnering with engineering leads and stakeholders to maintain workflow momentum, track dependencies, and communicate timelines effectively. Although coding will not be required, a solid understanding of software development processes and collaboration with developers is essential.
This hands-on position requires managing project scopes, monitoring progress, addressing dependencies promptly, and providing transparent status updates that both technical and non-technical audiences trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and oversight of software projects from initial scoping to final launch.
- Coordinate with engineering leadership and stakeholders to keep dependencies visible and maintain steady progress.
- Support team planning cycles and delivery rhythms.
- Maintain logs for risks and issues, escalating concerns early.
- Conduct regular, concise status reporting for technical teams and leadership vis-à-vis project health.
- Manage adjustments in project scope, schedules, or resources with change control processes.
- Ensure projects are driven to completion and document lessons learned post-delivery.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing software-focused projects, ideally within fast-paced product organizations.
- Comfort collaborating daily with developers and grasping technical concepts without needing to code.
- Experience with project and delivery tools such as Jira or Linear (or equivalents).
- Excellent organizational ability to impose structure in ambiguous situations proactively.
- Clear and direct communicator capable of bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated environments is advantageous but not required.
- Preference for action and results over bureaucratic process adherence.
Why Join Ryft
- Be part of a growing fintech company at an influential stage after Series B funding, with meaningful impact on project delivery.
- Work closely with engineering leadership and company founders on roadmap and delivery decisions.
- Benefit from a hybrid working model based from their Manchester office.
- Receive competitive compensation and benefits.
