Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Project Estimator to take full ownership of managing and coordinating construction bids from initial invitation through project handover. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a goal-oriented, problem-solving approach while collaborating effectively with various stakeholders including project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are accurately bid and completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire thorough knowledge of company services, procedures, estimating processes, and business lines during initial onboarding.
• Master the review of project plans, setup of project trades, subcontractor invitations, pre-bid requests for information (RFIs), budgeting general conditions, and bid accuracy assessments.
• Learn to effectively use estimating and project management software including Timberline Sage and ProCore.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to foster smooth bidding and project execution.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously while prioritizing urgent tasks and maintaining organization in a fast-paced setting.
• Independently handle bidding on projects, preparing complete bid packages, and collaborating closely with project managers for project award handoffs.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding bid outcomes and opportunities, participate in management meetings, and support project teams as needed.
• Develop full competence in all estimating functions to consistently produce precise bids for projects ranging up to $20 million.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of five years’ experience in construction project estimating.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
• Strong understanding of general contracting, subcontracting processes, construction methods, terminology, and scheduling.
• Ability to manage concurrent bids, including those valued between $2 million and $6 million as well as larger projects up to $20 million.
• Computer proficient with experience in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, and Adobe PDF editing.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or a relevant combination of education and practical experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers competitive salary ranges from $75,000 to $185,000 annually. Additional benefits include annual performance bonuses, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) plan, vehicle allowance, company communication devices, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
