Project Engineer - FTTX

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Project Engineer to lead and oversee fiber optic network deployment projects including FTTH and FTTX rollouts. This role involves managing field operations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders such as vendors, contractors and clients, and ensuring that all project phases are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise FTTH and FTTX fiber deployment and rollout initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with on-site teams, vendors, contractors, and clients to guarantee timely execution of projects.
• Oversee Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) routing, cable pulling, fiber blowing, splicing, and network installations.
• Manage aerial and underground fiber deployment efforts, including HDD, trenching, and duct installation.
• Handle the installation and upkeep of Optical Distribution Network (ODN) and Passive Optical Network (PON) infrastructures.
• Coordinate and monitor installation activities involving OLTs, Optical Network Terminals (ONT), Fiber Distribution Boxes (FDB), Fiber Access Terminals (FAT and FDT), and fiber joint closures.
• Conduct or supervise OTDR and other fiber testing procedures, including troubleshooting any issues detected.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, documentation accuracy, and project completion within the agreed timeframe.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports while facilitating solutions for any issues that arise during project execution.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecom, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in relevant FTTX, FTTH, or telecom fiber deployment projects.
• Proficient in fiber optic technologies including GPON, XG-PON, Fiber Splicing, OTDR testing, cable pulling, and fiber blowing.
• Experienced in managing aerial and underground fiber installations, HDD, trench digging, and duct installation.
• Strong coordination skills, vendor management capabilities, and effective problem-solving aptitude.
• Willingness to travel as required to project locations including Hyderabad.
