Role Overview
We are seeking a Project Document Controller for a 12-month fixed-term position within our Technology and Business Services Unit located at Central Park, Perth City. This role focuses on managing engineering and design documents to support multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout project lifecycles, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient document workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee project document control systems to handle engineering documentation in compliance with organizational standards, contracts, and timeline requirements.
- Manage technical documents end-to-end, including registration, classification, versioning, status tracking, distribution, and withdrawal of outdated files.
- Coordinate and monitor engineering deliverables and processes supporting design reviews, procurement, construction coordination, vendor documentation, and technical project handovers.
- Maintain document quality by ensuring metadata accuracy, adherence to revision controls, drawing standards, title blocks, formatting, file naming conventions, and controlled dissemination.
- Act as a document control subject matter expert, collaborating with engineers, drafters, contractors, and vendors; providing guidance on document standards and contributing to continuous system improvements.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years experience in document control and records management within project environments.
- Strong understanding of document control principles, standards, and management systems.
- Experience supporting operational readiness and project handover phases.
- Proficiency with document management platforms such as OpenText and InEight.
- Background familiarity with government, utilities, or other regulated sectors.
